Refund Policy

1. General Refund Eligibility

Sotheby’s aims to maintain fair and transparent transactions. Refunds may be granted under the following circumstances:
    •    Item significantly not as described
    •    Proven authenticity issues
    •    Shipping damage
    •    Transaction errors
    •    Cancelled auctions

2. Refund Request Process

To request a refund:
    1.    Contact customer support within 7 days of delivery.
    2.    Provide:
    •    Order number
    •    Description of the issue
    •    Photos (if applicable)

3. Return Conditions
    •    Items must be returned in original condition.
    •    Returns must be approved before shipment.
    •    Unauthorized returns may be rejected.

4. Processing Time
    •    Refunds are processed within 7–14 business days after approval.
    •    Funds are returned to the original payment method.

5. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds may be denied if:
    •    The item was accurately described.
    •    The buyer changes their mind.
    •    Damage occurred after delivery.

6. Refund of Platform Fees

All platform-related fees paid on the site are refundable under the following conditions:

Refundable fees include:
    •    Listing fees
    •    Consignment fees
    •    Platform service charges
    •    Buyer’s premium (if sale is cancelled)
    •    Transaction processing fees (if refunded order)

6.2 Refund Conditions

Fees will be refunded if:
    •    The auction is cancelled
    •    The transaction fails
    •    The item is returned and refund approved
    •    A platform error occurs

6.3 Refund Timeline

Fee refunds are processed within 7–14 business days after approval.
